
JOanne Camilleri has provided quality instruction in belly dance fusion in the Toronto Community for over 20 years. Joanne founder and artistic director of formally Vivace Studios, and now Joanne Dancer continues to offer a dance environment wherein students find a sense of belonging and family and enjoy the art of dance and learning.
Classes are nurturing and challenging and inspire students to listen to their body and respect its wisdom to discover and reach their full potential, in the process students can become highly skilled performers. The JOanne legacy of creating strong technical dancers, who also possess their own gift of artistry, continues to be the guiding principle of her vision.
JOanne has inspired many generations of dancers and served as ‘mentor’ to many women in the Toronto, community, and high standards as a teacher and has developed a versatile instruction style all her own. Her innovative and signature style and original choreography has become a trademark of strength, carried on with great success. She celebrates diversity and to develop their individuality and creativity while expressing themselves through the language and technique of belly dance, and to progress at their own pace.

JOanne Camilleri's passion for dance has been a lifelong journey. She started as a child with ballet, jazz, tap, and various modern dance techniques at the Doreen Hayes School of Dance. Her foundational training at The George Randolph College for the Performing Arts, led to workshops at the National Ballet of Canada, studied ballet- Jazz and French as a second language at the University of Laval, Quebec City, Quebec and then to Contemporary Dance and Modern Jazz at Ryerson University, Toronto.
